Trusts & Estates Associate
PartnerJD’s esteemed law firm client is looking to hire an experienced Trusts and Estates Associate for their Richmond, Virginia office. Complex estate planning, asset protection planning, trust and estate settlement, and taxation experience is required.
Our client is looking for an Associate who preferably has in-depth, broad-based experience in estate planning and estate administration, and some litigation experience. The Associate candidate will consult with and advise fiduciaries in probate and trust administration, work with clients in connection with contested trust and tax matters, review estate and gift tax returns (including complex reporting and valuation issues), and assist clients in the establishment of private foundations and other charitable vehicles.
Well qualified candidates must be admitted to the Virginia Bar and be active member in good standing. Additionally, candidates must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and should have a minimum of 2-3 years of trusts and estates experience. Qualified candidates will also have experience working with high net-worth individuals in the design and drafting of their estate plans, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, premarital agreements, and other estate planning documents. Candidates should be experienced with family limited partnerships and limited liability companies, shareholder agreements, installment sales, and other related transactions.
